What Most Schools Don’t Teach

‎”You don’t have to be a genius to code: do you have to be a genius to read?” 

I’m a pretty evangelical supporter of giving every student some exposure to computer programming.

I don’t expect them all to become master hackers, just as I don’t expect every student who learns to write to become the next William Wordsworth.

But just as we have come to see basic reading, writing, and math skills as crucial for navigating life, I hope that one day we will come to see basic proficiency with coding as just another form of literacy.
